November 24 CHEMCAD, PROII, ASPEN的比较简单总结以下七点:1 一般认为,PROII在炼油工业应用更为准确些,因其数据库中有不少经验数据;而ASPEN在化工领域表现更好,Aspen Plus与之比较有其它软件不可比拟的优点它基本上覆盖了以上各软件的所有优点。有人比喻:PROII是经验派,ASPEN是学院派。 2. 学习aspen plus必备 1化工原理;讲化工过程得单元操作 3. HYSYS主要用于炼油。动态模拟是它的优势。 ASPEN是智能型的,用于化工领域流程模拟,比较大或长的流程,而且数据库比较全,开方式的。它和HYSYS现在是一家。 4. 我觉得aspen plus的计算是最精确的,数据库的建设也是最完善的。不过我对它的操作不太适 由于它考虑的方面非常全面,所以让我感觉学起来比较费劲。chemcad的界面操作让人感觉非常简 单,使用起来比较顺手。但是数据库不是太大,我用的5.0版本,就只有2000中常用物质的物性数据。PRO/II在这两方面都在中间。 5. 从易收敛性上看,chemcad>hysys>proii。 6. 从贴近工业实际看,proii>hysys>chemcad四个都是工程模拟仿真软件,其中Aspen、PRO/II, HYSYS为国内绝大多数设计院所使用。感觉Aspen适应范围最广,电解质、固体、燃烧等模块是其它软件难以比拟的;PRO/II在石化上应用较多,积累了丰富的经验;HYSYS则在油气工程领域就有着极高的精度和准确性。 7. 版本介绍: aspen好用的版本是10.2和11.1,其中10.2在winXP上使用会有一些小问题,但通过 笔者曾在我驻法国使馆经商处工作过几年,期间因工作需要经常为访法的国内招商、考察代表团当翻译,对做翻译工作的艰辛与无奈有切身的体验,个中滋味非同行而不知。现借"翻译园地"谈谈个人的一些粗浅体会与同仁交流。 一、日积月累、勤学苦练 学好外语和中文是作一名好翻译的最基本条件,许多人有一种误解,认为到了国外就不用再费力地学习外语啦,外语水平自然而然就会提高啦,其实不然,在国外工作外语环境固然比在国内要好得多,但若不有意识地学习和积累,外语水平也不会提高很多。经常可以看到这样的情景:两位同样在法国使馆工作了3、4年的年轻外交官,刚到法国的时候两人法语水平相差无几,但由于一个勤奋好学,另一个不思进取安于现状,几年的时间使这两个人的外语水平拉开很大的差距。许多人的经验已经充分证明即使在国外工作也不能放弃外语的学习而满足于能应付日常所需,而应当充分利用好国外良好的语言环境力争使自己的综合外语应用能力提高得快一些。 读报纸、看电视、听广播应当成为翻译每天的必修课,发现一些生动的、鲜活的表达方式要立即用笔记录下来,有空儿的时候常把这些积累的素材拿出来读一读,背一背;等到作翻译时如果恰好遇到相似的场景就信手拈来,往往能收到画龙点睛之效。 立志做一名合格翻译的人就要把学习外语和中文当作一种生活方式,要做到"拳不离手、曲不离口",学而不倦、乐此不疲;不满足于"基本上能应付一气的"、一般水平上的"听说读写译",要努力把自己的中外文水平提升到较高的层次,具备用简明、流畅、准确的语言自如地表达自己的思想的能力。 二、广泛、深入地了解和掌握背景资料 翻译如果对双方谈话中所涉及到的内容一无所知或知之甚少,就很难准确地翻译出来,翻译如果自己都不理解又怎么能够让别人理解呢?举例来说:我本人对化学一窍不通,如果让我给一场化学学术国际研讨会当翻译,那我无论如何也作不好。所以掌握背景资料对翻译来说至关重要,可以说翻译对双方所谈及的议题的相关背景资料了解得越广泛、越深入,翻译起来就越得心应手、游刃有余。 古人云:"功夫在诗外",套用这句话我们可以说"翻译的功夫在翻译之外",了解和熟悉大量的背景资料是作好翻译的基本功。笔者曾多次为国内主管部门的专项考察团作翻译,考察的内容涉及到财政管理、税收、海关、经济统计、国有企业管理、经济预测等等方面,每次接到任务前我都要尽量找来一些中文和外文的专业书看看,了解一些该专业的基本概念、专业术语和国际上的主要流派,这样才能做到心中有数。再比如,为了帮助法国大企业在中国市场上竞争,法国政府高官在会见我来访的部委负责人时都要谈到法国的核电技术和高速铁路技术如何世界一流,为了具备更多的这些方面的专业知识,我们使馆曾邀请访法的大亚弯核电的专家给我们介绍核电基础知识(如压水堆、中子堆、沸水堆等不同堆型的工作原理、技术优劣),请铁道部的专家介绍高速铁路ABC,着重介绍世界上现有的轮轨式、磁浮旋和摆式这三种高速铁路制式的优劣以及京沪线上如果采用这三种制式各自的优缺点。掌握了核电和高速铁路最基础的ABC之后,核电和高速铁路对我来说就不再是泛泛的、空洞的概念啦;翻译中再遇到双方谈起核电和高速铁路项目我就做到"手中有粮、心中不慌"。 三、注意收集和熟悉一些常用的缩略词和简称 人们在谈话中经常会讲许多缩略词和简称,如**、政协、三来一补、"三个有利于"、"抓大放小"等;法语中也有不少类似的缩略词和简称,如OGM(转基因食品)、TVA(增值税)、"NINI"(既不私有化也不国有化)、......这些缩略词和简称一不小心就很容易成为翻译的拦路虎。 另外,法国人在谈话中提到我部委、重要机构和大企业时习惯于使用它们的英文缩写,如SDPC(国家计委)、DRC(国务院发展研究中心)、CCPIT(贸促会)、CASC(中航总)、CAAC(民航总局),CNOOC(中国海洋石油总公司)、UNICOM(中国联通),这些缩略词虽属于"窗户纸"---一点就破,但却经常使翻译卡壳,让一名法语翻译记很多上述这样的缩略词似乎显得有点儿勉为其难,但不降服这些拦路虎就可能经常要出洋相。笔者曾有过这样的经验:一位法国大公司的国际部经理告诉我们的商务参赞,他刚刚访华归来,在北京会晤了COSTIND的一位张先生.....由于我不知道COSTIND是指什么,就问对方,对方既不知道COSTIND的英文全称,也不知道法语怎么说,后来他返回办公室后把张先生的中文名片复印后传真给我,我一看才恍然大悟,COSTIND是国防科工委的英文缩写。这件事发生以后,我就有意识地收集和熟悉一些常用的缩略词和简称,在以后的翻译工作中受益匪浅,经常能派上用场。 四、菜谱,笑话,一些带有暗喻性质的双关语的翻译。 外事活动离不开宴请,宴会中菜谱的翻译让人头痛,特别是法餐中所用的一些调料、一些法国人爱吃的深海鱼,我们中餐内没有,一些大西洋里的深海鱼的鱼名我们从未没听说过,即使我把从字典中查出来的这些鱼的中文名称讲出来后,中方人员还是如坠五云,一头雾水,我只好用手比画着描述一下这种鱼的大致形状。 西方**多比较幽默,餐座上喜欢来1、2段笑话活跃一下气氛,放松一下;但这往往给翻译出了一道难题:因为东、西方文化的差异,西方人的笑话我们东方人听来未必觉得可笑,但如果讲笑话的主人自己笑得前仰后合,而我们这些客人无动于衷的话,会使主人感到很尴尬的;如何能让我们的人也笑起来就成了翻译必须应对的严峻挑战。 五、社会地位比较高、受过良好教育的法国人说话喜欢咬文嚼字,喜欢用阴喻、比喻等修辞手法使自己的表达方式显得高雅、含蓄,他们说话往往不是直截了当、开门见山,而是曲折迂回,绕许多弯子,添加许多装饰性的华丽辞藻,表达个人观点时总不忘使用虚拟式或条件时态,以表示这些观点属于个人的主观看法,未必代表真实情况。许多不熟悉这种法国上流社会特有的、矫柔造作的表达方式的国内翻译马上会被弄得脑袋大啦。 自学西班牙语杂谈(转) 随着中国和拉美关系的升温,越来越多的中国人开始接触这门上帝的语言——西班牙语。而这不外乎有两种人:一种是在国内,而且这个人群越来越庞大,但初学者居多;另外一种就是在西语国家,初学者也占据了相当的一部分。 居于此,国内外越来越多的西语培训班如雨后春笋般地出现在中国人面前,而学费实在是让人不敢恭维。物以稀为贵啊。上培训班是一条不错的道路,起码有老师指点迷津。但还有一条更为广阔的路——自学。 自学的道路充满艰辛同时也充满乐趣。它没有考试甚至其他方面的压力,你反而会放开大胆地去学,去尝试。自己走出来的路是最为深刻的,那么走错了,只要有别人指引,你有走上正路了。 呵呵,废话了那么多,言归正传吧。 对于国内的自学者 有人说在国内学习西语就等于闭门造车,其实不然。即使没有好的交流环境一样何以掌握好一门语言。关键是还要靠自己。 首先,必须选择一套适合的教材作为基准。以前看过一个专门介绍国内教材的帖子,但我还是强烈地推荐《现代西班牙语》,它的优势就不用我多费口舌了。 当然,你对其他的教材一见钟情也不是件坏事,只要适合自己就行。选好教材后就别再忧郁了,千万不要把书放在家里当摆设,开始吧。 大家都知道学一门语言主要分为: 语音,语法,听力,口语,阅读和写作这里六部分。每一部分都是一项艰巨的工程,切记!!没有哪部分是容易的。 初学者最头痛的就是发音。29个字母要发得地地道道,标标准准对国人们绝不是一朝一夕就可以练出来的。想把语音发地地道最好的方法就是一个字—— 听。听广播!!!!! 你说什么? 你听不懂? 我也听不懂啊。没有人一开始就听得懂的。那不是天才是什么?!听广播的好处除了能纠正自己的发音外,日后自己的口语的语速,语调会慢慢地潜移默化地走向完美。当然,没有听个天花乱醉是做不到的。 对大多数初学者来说,比较难掌握的有三对:b和p, c和g,d和t。有好多人把这几个音给混淆了。当然,这几个不是最难大,相信学过英语的人来说都很容易。最最最难的还是哪个颤音rr。谁叫我们是中国人,在我们的母语中压根就没这个音。那么有很多人开始学的时候就把他发成dr或者tr,因为这两个音也有颤一下啊,注意,只有一下哦。其实是非常错误的。Dr的发音是牙齿稍微咬住舌尖再伸回去而发出来的音,这样发出来的音只能是单颤的。而rr是多颤的。现在关于怎么发这个音的说法有几种,比如口里含着水模仿漱口的样子发出来的声音。我没练过这种方法,我只知道我们漱口的时候是水在口中由于吐出来的气在水中产生的气泡从而生成的声音,而在这种状态下舌头是平直的,或者说舌头并没有运动。而颤音是必须通过舌头的振动而产生的声音效果。这显然是矛盾的。 颤音的形成是靠舌头的震动而产生的。把舌尖顶住上齿龈,把力全部集中在舌尖部位,吐气,并带动舌尖的震动,而舌尖和上齿龈之间撞击所产生的效果就是颤音。我们都知道,声音是靠力的使物体产生震动的结果。我们平时所发出的声音是声带震动的结果,而颤音的产生正是靠气息所带来的动力从而使舌尖和上齿龈之间的震动所生成的效果。 要完美地产生这种效果,首先,舌头对于上齿龈的支持力不能太大,假如舌头用很大的里顶住上齿龈的话,那么再有力的气息也不可能发出来。稍微地顶住,让气息自然地带动他们之间的震动。 刚开始先练习发rra的音,这是五个音中最容易发出来的。一旦你把rra发得接近完美以后,你的rre也就没问题了。但有一点非常重要,在发rra和rre的时候,舌尖和上齿龈保持 90度,这比45度角更容易发。但是rri、rro和rru的话还是用45度发出来比较流畅。后三个我用90度发不出来,而改用45度则可以。 再练习发颤音的时候不要孤立地去练习,应该带到文章中去练,也许你单单去发那五个音的时候你会越来越没信心,倘若你带到文章中去读,你会得到欲想不到的效果。 October 26 基金项目英文翻译基金项目英文翻译 1 国家高技术研究发展计划资助项目(863计划)(No. "Students should bring a certain
skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught
instead of accepting it passively." From the beginning of education, a student
receives knowledge from his teachers. Then he takes examinations, in which what
his teachers said in classes is the correct answers to the questions. After a
long time, the concept that the teacher is always right is stereotyped in
students' mind. However, such a concept results in a lot of disadvantages for
students, no matter it is during his schoolhood or profession career.
Therefore, it is very important for students to grasp critical thinking and
bring a certain skepticism to what they are taught. Without skepticism, students would become
used to accept passively what teachers, books or other information sources tell
them, which needs little thinking about it. Yet effective learning can not be
achieved by merely remembering knowledge, but by thinking. A student who never
asks questions about his courses must be the one that never thinks about the
truth. It would result in more problems in their
profession career after the schoolhood is ended if students are not able to
think critically. The leading one is that it is not possible for them to make a
breakthrough whatever they do, for that any breakthrough is a result of
skepticism of the old pattern. For making new discoveries in science, if
the student becomes a scientist, nothing is more critical than skepticism. Only
when a question arise about a phenomena or an established idea does one begin
to think deep into it and seek for the explanation or solution, and ultimately
come up with a new idea. If he had firmly believed in the Classic Physics that
was established by Newton and was accepted widely as the crest of the study of
physics, Albert Einstein would not have originated the theory of relativity,
which is a milestone of the development of physics. In the business world, which is more likely
to be where the student is engaged, skepticism is also of great importance.
Michael Dell would not have made Dell Inc. a big success among the computer companies
if he had followed what his professor said to him. While a student at the
university of Texas, Michael Dell's paper in which he created a new business
model----"cutting out the middle man" and selling computers directly
to customers----was signed "C" by his professor, who thought that the
model was impossible at all. However, Dell didn't take his professor's opinion
as absolute truth and insisted in founding his own company in his model, which
turned out to be a big success. Yet too much skepticism should also be avoided. It is of no benefit if students question blindly what teachers say, which loses the function of education. What students should do is to bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study, rather than accept all passively or doubt everything. In the aspect of educators, their understanding of students' questions of what they teach is essential to create a good atmosphere for students to cultivate their critical thinking.

However, when they step out of the university and into their career, they confront a lot of problems that they are not able to solve with what they have learned in the courses in the college or university. What is the cause of such a problem that troubles many graduates when they begin their career? It is that most faculty in colleges and universities always focus on their academic work while pay little attention to the professions relevant to the courses they teach. Generally speaking, almost all faculties in universities have research programs to do, which is usually the main part of their work. Dealing with academic work takes most of their time and energy. As a consequence, the courses they give to students are generally in relation to their own academic work, rather than the professions. However, only few students go into the academic world like their faculty while most go to do pragmatic jobs after graduation. What they need in their career is practical skills that help them solve the problems in their work. Many theories they learn in the university are too abstract to be used to deal with pragmatic problems. Facing such a situation, it will be beneficial to the quality of instruction at the college and university level if most faculties can spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach. When faculties know more about the professions, they will be able to give more practical instruction and skills to the students in their courses, which is of significant meaning to students in their careers. Yet it should also be pointed out that too much work outside in professions is harmful to the successful education in colleges or universities, for that too work in professions may affect the quality of the academic researches and the teaching work. Academic researches are always the important tasks of faculty in university in that only the faculties stand at the head of the development of sciences and lead science to go ahead continuously. To sum up, faculty in colleges and universities should spend part of their time working outside the academic world and learn more about the professions relevant to the courses they teach so as to provide instruction of higher quality and practical use to students. I could not agree with the speaker that the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives. In my point of view, the study of history has significant meanings to development of the present generation and the future ones, with numerous lessons that we learn from the history, only if we have the ability to analyze the history and discover what is valuable to the later generations. As the famous English philosopher, Francis Bacon, told us, "Histories make men wise." In the study of history, it is historical thinking, or historical reasoning skills that play the fundamental role, rather than history content such as names, dates and places. Historical thinking helps us analyze the past events, find what lessons those events tell us and learn how we can do better in the future. The value of the study of history can be illustrated by many examples. One of them is the process of the rebuilding of Japan after the World War II. Japan suffered tremendous damage during the World War II and after that it struggled under terrible situation, particularly the poor economic condition. To begin with, the threshold problem with this argument is that it does not provide any scientific record of the comets striking Earth. Without any record, first, it is doubted that how many comets had struck the Earth. If only very few comets struck Earth, they are not enough to form Earth's oceans. Second, even if there were many comets striking Earth, when they struck is a critical problem. If comets struck Earth before the Earth became its current size, as it is very hot and had no enough gravitation to hold water vapor, the water vapor that came from comets striking Earth would have gone off into space. If comets struck Earth when the planet has cooled for a long time, the temperature of the planet was not hot enough to vaporize the comets. From a dialectic perspective, we should see both the positive and negative effect of scandals. To begin with, exposure of scandals helps to focus the attention of the public on problems, which is beneficial to the masses. Politicians, scholars, and enterprisers always try to cover up their wrongdoings, if they have, to maintain their own interests, but regardless of the sake of many victims of what they did. Therefore, only when the scandals are exposed can the public get to know the truth. In my point of view, even though there are some problems with the education we give to children, our children education does equip many children with the qualification to make the society better in the future. The destiny of society, to a great extent, is determined by how children are socialized today, as they will be the dominant power of the society. Socialization is referred to the process of learn to understand the society and how to live within it, which involves many aspects, such as moral norms, attitudes, values, motives, social roles, language and symbols. In the respect of the social roles, for example, it is essential for children to learn the skills of cooperation, which plays an important role in both the development of individuals and society. Psychological scientists have discovered that the influence a person receives in his childhood has the most significant effect on his or her whole life. Therefore, if the young generation learns well to get along with others and tolerate different ideas, the future society will enjoy higher efficiency and harmony. In contrast, if too much individualism is instilled into a generation from the beginning of their life, when they grow up into adults and become the mainstream of the society, egotism and selfishness will be very severe around. The fact that archarologists have not found the envidence of humans's contact with mammals can not prove that the envidence does not exist. In other words, perhaps in the future archarologists will discover the envidence that humans did have great contact with mammals. Secondly, even if it has been made sure that humans contacted little with mammals, it is not an convincing envidence to demonstrate that humans cannot have been a factor in the species' extinctions. It is possible that humans led to the mammals' extinction indirectly. If humans broke the food chains involving those mammals by consuming the plants and animals that other mammals fed on, or intruded on mammals' territory and deprived them of their living space, these also contribute to the mammals' extinctions. In addition, the mere fact that the sites where the bones of fish had been discarded did not contain the bones of large mammals is insefficient to conclude that the humans cannot have hunted the mammals. The auguer does not take into consideration the factor that humans may only take flesh home with bones after they hunted a mammal, which was very likely to happen when the mammal was too large and heavy for humans to move as a whole. To sum up, thie argument is not persuastive as it stands. To make it more convincing, the arguer would have to provide more information regarding the mammals in the Kaliko Islands at that time, for example, the diet of them, where they lived before humans arrived on the islands and where after that. Let's look back at the Renaissance (the period between the 14th and the 17th century), which was an influential cultural movement in pursuit of Humanism and brought a period of scientific rovolution and artistic transformation. It is easy for us to notice Giottio at the early Renaissace, an architect who was the forerunner of Renainssace and led the way of restoring dignity to human figures. From what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that education should play a role of inspiring the individual interests of each student, which should be done in the early period of education. "Both the villages of Castorville and Polluxton have experienced sharp declines in the numbers of residents who pay property taxes. To save money and improve service, the two villages recently merged their once separate garbage collection departments into a single department located in Castorville, and the new department has reported few complaints about its service. Last year the library in Polluxton had 20 percent fewer users than during the previous year. It follows that we should now further economize and improve service, as we did with garbage collection, by closing the library in Polluxton and using the library in Castorville to serve both villages." In this argument, the author concludes that confronted the fact that last year the library in Polluxton had fewer users than the previous years, Polluxton should close its library and use the library in Castorville. To substantiate this conclusion, the author cites the example of garbage collection departsments in the villages of Castorville and Polluxton. The author reasons that the numbers of residents who pay property taxes declined in both the two villages, which is similar to the situation that the library in Polluxton are facing. Furthermore, the author points out that the method of merging the once separate garbage collection departsments in the two villages into a single departmant located in Castorville manages to diminish the complants of the garbage collection service. At the first glance, this argument appears to be somewhat convincing, but further reflection reveals that it omits some substantial concerns that should be addressed in this argument. First of all, the argument is based on a false analogy. The author assumes that the method for garbage collection service can be used to solve the problem of library service, merely based on the superficial similarity of declines in property tax payers and library users. However, in these two cases exit fundamental differences: first, the causes are differences; second, library service differs conspicuously from garbage collection service. The argument doesn't explain why the library in Polluxton had fewer users. Maybe it is because the library in Polluxton had not bought new books for a very long time that fewer readers went there for books. If this is the case, then the solution should be supplementing new books to the library rather than chose it. Secondly, the author doesn't take into consideration that library service is different from garbage collection service. After the separate garbage collection departments were merged into a single one, the residents in Polluxton didn't need to adjust their habits of dealing with garbage, for that the garbage collection department in Castorville send workers and cars to Polluxton to collect garbage. Yet if the library in Polluxton is closed, its residents will have to go to the other village for books, which is rather discommodious. As a result, they will give up going to library in Castorville. In addition, the evidence that the change of garbage collection service helps to save money and improve service is not sufficient. The argument didn't provide any information about the money. Additionally, the fact that the new department has reported few complaints about its service is not convincing enough to prove that the service is really satisfactory. It is possible that problems haven't been noted just after a short period or the new department doesn't set an effective complaint mechanism. In sum, the author fails to substantiate his claim that Polluxton should close its library and use the library in Castorville, because the evidence cited in this argument doesn't lend strong support for what the author asserts. To make this argument more convincing, the author would have to give explanation what caused the library in Polluxton had fewer users. In addition, he would have to prove that closing the library in Polluxton and using the library in Castorville would serve both villages. |
